Bentonite clay is highly adsorbent, meaning that even at full water vapor capacity, it remains dry and free-flowing, without any change in size, shape or texture.
Product Information
Bentonite clay is a natural alternative to some of the other desiccant options. The production and processing of Desi Pak requires no chemical additives or solvents: it is simply extruded, dried and graded. The process requires low energy and water consumption.
Desiccant Capacities
Betonite adsorbs more moisture than the equivalent amount of silica gel in package conditions below 30% relative humidity (RH) – most common packaging conditions.
It is easy to handle during the packaging process as it accepts moisture at a slower rate than silica gel at the higher relative humidity levels.
Silica gel is best for packaging applications where target level humidity inside the package is above 30%.
