Privacy Policy (Australia)
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit, make a purchase from, or make an enquiry or sample request through www.ecpltd.com.au and www.ecpltd.co (the “Site”), or when you contact us by email in response to an ECP communication.
Personal information we collect
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
– “Cookies” are data files placed on your device, often including an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.
– “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
– “Web beacons”, “tags”, and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number. We refer to this as “Order Information.”
Enquiry and Sample Request Information. When you request a product sample, respond to one of our outreach emails, or otherwise get in touch with us, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, phone number, email address, company name, job title, and physical (delivery) address. We use this to process and dispatch your sample request and to follow up with relevant product or service information.
When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we mean Device Information, Order Information, and Enquiry and Sample Request Information, collectively.
How do we use your personal information?
We use Order Information and Enquiry and Sample Request Information to:
– Fulfil orders and sample requests placed through the Site or by email (including processing payment where applicable, arranging shipping, and providing invoices or confirmations);
– Communicate with you, including following up on samples and enquiries;
– Screen orders and requests for potential risk or fraud; and
– When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
We use Device Information to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimise our Site, including generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site and assessing the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns.
Sharing your personal information
We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use it as described above. For example, we use Shopify to power our online store — you can read more at shopify.com/legal/privacy. We may also share Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Cross-border disclosure
Some of the third-party service providers we use to run the Site and manage enquiries (for example, e-commerce, analytics, and email/CRM platforms) store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada, and New Zealand. Before disclosing Personal Information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps, consistent with Australian Privacy Principle 8, to ensure the recipient does not breach the APPs in relation to that information.
